David Whyte Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dave at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on March 25, 2026 at age 82. Beloved husband of Beth (nee Mawhinney), very loving Dad to Clayton, Ryan (Kerri) and Grandpa to Scarlett.

He was a retired lifetime employee of Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company (Canada), and later also had his own consulting company. Dave had a very full life of adventures with his family, whether it was being at the cottage, camping, travelling over the years; and of course his lifelong passion for mechanics and automobiles.

He spent many years coaching the boys in Whitby Minor Hockey and Whitby Minor Baseball Association. In Dave's later years he enjoyed being a Track Marshall and a Pit Marshall at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. His true enjoyment into retirement, was being on the family property working around with his tractor (which he nicknamed Tony), and other various projects.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, his two sons Clayton and Ryan (Kerri), his granddaughter Scarlett, extended family, his cousin Ruth (Ken), our very special neighbours Paul and Lynn and our dog Shelby.
