It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Desmond George Newman (Whitby, Ontario), who passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie; his daughters, Deidre, Elizabeth (Eric) and Marsha; his grandchildren, Jenna, Douglas, Gillian, Georgia and Tor; and his brother Bill (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Abilities Centre (1 Jim Flaherty St, Whitby, ON L1N0J2). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (903 Giffard St, Whitby, ON L1N2S3).
The family appreciates all expressions of support and condolences and asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St John the Evangelist Catholic Church Renovation Fund.
