Frank Adkins Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Emery Adkins on May 6, 2026, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 69 years old.
Predeceased by his parents, Frank Samuel Adkins and Mable Jean Adkins, and his brothers, Jeff and Harry, Frank was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and dedicated union brother. He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and the deep love he carried for his family every day of his life. He took great pride in the life he built and in the people he loved most.
Frank is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Sheri; his children, Frank, Jeremy (Tasha), Shawna (Adam), Brittney (Jason), Erik (Shannon), and Jennifer (Johnny); and his 17 cherished grandchildren: Kaiden, Wesley, Bryauna, Olivia, Irelyn, Amelia, Hannah, Juliaunna, Makinley, Isabelle, Charlotte, Cole, Brysen, and Harper, Emma, Leah and Keira all of whom knew and loved him as Poppa. He is also survived by his brother, Randy (Corrina).
Family meant everything to Frank. He also found a second home in Cuba, his happy place, where he formed deep and lasting friendships with Isabel, Nico, Sanny, Reyvis, and Fabian—friends who became family.
Frank's second love was his union. A dedicated member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 230 for decades, he built lifelong friendships with his fellow Teamsters brothers. He spent most of his working life driving ready-mix trucks and took great pride in his work before retiring in November 2023.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the supportive care team at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their compassion, kindness, and exceptional care during Frank's final days.
Frank will be remembered as a man who was deeply loved and respected, whose kindness, loyalty, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family touched the lives of many. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd N Whitby on Thursday May 14th, from 11:00 am until time of service in the Barnes Chapel Thursday at 12:00 Noon.
