Helen O'Reilly Obituary
Helen was born Toronto June 27, 1927.
Daughter of Thomas and Margaret Black.
She was married to William James O'Reilly for 77 years.
Mother of Elaine (Bob Burns), Laurie (David Skinner,) Colleen (Ken Ferdinands), William Jr. (Jo-Anne), Barbara (Harold Burton) and Kevin (Colleen), Nana to 14 grandchildren and Great Grandmother (GG) to 18.
Surrounded by love, Helen passed away peacefully at The Village of Taunton Mills in Whitby, Ontario, on Sunday, October 5.
The youngest of 9 siblings, Helen was predeceased by her 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Originally an employee of Bell Canada in the '40s, Helen finished her working career as a Re/max Real Estate Sales Rep in Aurora.
A member of Beacon Hall Golf Club for many years, she was proud of the hole in one she scored on the 8th green.
As a talented and passionate vocalist, Helen sang choral music for many years in the St. Rose of Lima Choir.
As a regular player in the Scarborough Music Theatre, she performed in musicals such as "Gypsy", "Oliver", "Hello Dolly" and others.
Helen is also remembered as an avid gardener, perceptive artist, creative knitter, and seamstress.
She enjoyed gardening, painting and creating beautiful sweaters for her grandchildren and great grandchildren well into her retirement.
