Leuntje Henderson Obituary

Leuntje Henderson passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital.

Leuntje was a proud member of the Whitby Legion Branch 112 where she served on the ladies axillary for many years.

She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Mary-Ann Henderson and Sharon Meval (Glenn), and a proud and loving Oma to her cherished granddaughter, Caitlyn Meval.

Leuntje is survived by her siblings Peter Knoester, Helen Vanessan, and Dirk Knoester.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Henderson; her parents, Johannes and Helena Knoester; and her siblings Mary Dull and Lies Unterberg.

Leuntje will be remembered for her quiet strength, kindness, and the deep love she had for her family. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Lakeridge Health for their compassion, kindness and unwavering support throughout this challenging period.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Leuntje's memory may be made to the Durham Region Cancer Centre.
