Moreen Garant Obituary

Moreen Garant (nee McGlynn) passed away peacefully on 6 October 2025 in her 100th year.

Moreen celebrated her 100th birthday with close family and friends with lots of laughter, and, champaign! Moreen was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston Garant to whom she, was married for 62 years.

She is survived by her three children, Allan (Loretta), David (Julie) and Brenda (Gunnarsson).

Moreen will be forever cherished and remembered by her 5 grandchildren, Scott (Pam), Travis, Julia (Ryan), Joseph (Marissa) and Emilie (Steven) and her 9 great grandchildren, Kyla, Carter, Alyssa, Charlotte, Annabelle, Harley, Jamie, Liliane, and Remi.

A special thank you to Leslie French for all her love and support these many many years, Moreen cherished her.

Moreen will also be missed by her surviving siblings, Joyce Spada, Jefferson McGlynn, (Helen), James McGlynn and all her nieces & nephews.

We would like to thank the staff at the Lakeridge Cardiac Unit for their compassionate care, during Moreen's last days. We would also like to thank everyone at Amica Taunton North, who went above and beyond to make our mother's last year full of love, outstanding care, and filled her days with laughter, music, and dignity. All of you, at Amica Taunton North, mean the world to us.

The service will be a private affair with the immediate family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Durham Regional Food Bank.
