He was predeceased by: his parents, George Merrick and Dorothy Merrick; his grandparents, Ralph and Catherine Moran; and his siblings, George, Cecilia, Veronica and Margaret.

He is survived by: his sisters, Monica, Marie and Bernadette. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
