Robert Embrey Obituary

If you asked ten people his name, you might get three different answers. Robert on paper. Bob to his wife, children, and friends. Jack to his mother, sister, and extended family.

Losing his father as a teenager, Bob found early comfort in books and music, passions he carried his whole life. In his 30s, he met Diane and fully embraced her three children (Kim, Jim & Michelle) as his own. Later, they welcomed a son (Stephen) together, completing the family he cherished more than anything. He was endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren, always cheering them on from the sidelines.

In later life, Bob took up writing, penning a collection of hand-written fictional novels and short stories. His dry humor, puns and dad jokes were legendary. He was a devoted Blue Jays and Maple Leafs fan, riding every high and low.

He cared for Diane with unwavering devotion through her illness, and missed her deeply after her passing only three months before his own. We find solace in knowing he is reunited with her in the afterlife.

Robert/Bob/Jack will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him, and stories of him will live on in his loved ones. In lieu of flowers, donations to SickKids Foundation are lovingly appreciated.

Visitation at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd N Whitby on Monday August 10th from 11:00 am until time of service in the Barnes Chapel Monday at 12:30 pm.

Interment will follow at Groveside Cemetery. In memory of Bob memorial donations to SickKids Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
