He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Winter and Gardner Winter; his wife Helen Beamish; and his siblings, Kay (late Bob Walker), Dorothy (late Everett Quantrill), Isabell (late Murray Wilson) and Dick (late Mae Winter).

He is survived by: his sister Joyce Forsyth (late Hugh); and his children, Elizabeth Ranson (JIm), David Winter (Lorie), Catherine Smith (Neil) and Nancy Stirling (late Neil). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
