Bertha Saikkonen Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 15, 2025, at the age of 84, Bertha Saikkonen (Whitefish, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Raimo "Ray" Saikkonen; her parents, Andrew Debassige and Rose Debassige; and her siblings, Helen Crawford (late Ivan), Noel Debassige (Mary), Justin Debassige (Jean), Levina Young (Jack), Timothy Debassige (Eleanor) and Nellie Debassige.
She is survived by: her children, Earl Debassige (Debbie), Christina Taibossigai (Ivan), Andre Marinoff (Mary), Robert Saikkonen (Carolyn), Michael Saikkonen (Shari) and Theresa Wilson; her siblings, Edward Debassige (Tammy), Elaine Debassige, Earl Debassige (Debbie), Sally Hare (Glen) and Christy Taibossigai (Ivan); and her sister-in-law Ingrid Saikkonen. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home (233 Larch St, Greater Sudbury, ON P3E3E1). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Christopher's Catholic Church.
