He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Long and John Long; his brother Mark; and his brothers-in-law, Ray and Reg.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Long; his sisters, Janet Black and Carol Long; his nieces, Candice Gatto (Salvatore) and Christine Long; and his nephew Jason Long (Samantha). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many dear cousins.

The family has chosen to send donations to CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY - SOCIÉTÉ CANADIENNE DU CANCER.
