He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Gail Barkley; his children, Chris (Midori) of Toronto, Stefan (Amalie) of Alliston and Damon (Terra) of Merrickville; his parents, Edna Barkley of Morrisburg and Arnold Barkley; his siblings, Marilyn Barkley of Morrisburg, Karen Barkley of Toronto, Brenda Lafortune (Leo) of Mariatown and Danny Barkley (Michelle) of Ottawa; and his grandchildren, Minami and Haruki. He was also cherished by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
