She was predeceased by: her husband Carl; her stepson Carl Jr. Coates; and her parents, Dr. Leo Yack and Eileen. She is survived by: her children, Jayne Casanova, Kim Bertrand, Barbara-Jo Muir (Steve), Terra Coates (late Joe), Shannon Wielczopolski (Jeff), Steven Coates (Dawn), Lillian Evans (Duck) and Bernard Coates (Jody); her stepdaughters, Pennie Robinson, Joy Coates and Julie Coates; and her friend Denise Johnson-Andrey.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 23rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Email Notes Parish (3260 Dougall Ave, Windsor, ON N9E1S6). A prayer was held on Sunday, August 23rd 2026 at 4:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (4401 Mt Royal Dr, Windsor, ON N9G2C5).
