He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Pride and WillieMae Burks. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Bettina Carter, William Carter, Keema Carter-Campbell and Tamika Harris; his son-in-law Donald Campbell; and his grandchildren, Isaiah, Isaac, Savannah, Kyran, Darius, Anayah, Sebastian, Azaria and Nina. He is also survived by his 14 siblings, and many extended family and friends.
