Charles McKellar Edward Obituary

Charlie passed away at home in his sleep after a short respiratory illness on April 26, 2026 at 80 years of age. Loving and devoted husband of Teresa for 58 years. Proud father of Tracie (Scott Palmer), Tom (Andrea), and Jeff (Karry). Treasured "Poppy" of Kaitlin (Mitch), Hope (Tyler), Kenneth (Rebecca), Holly, Allyson (Braydan), David, Rachel, Riordan and great-grandchildren, Ariella, Oliver and Kaylee. Dear brother of Sylvia (Bob) Doyle and brother-in-law to Jim McDonald (2021) and Maureen Kenny, Anna and Keith (2007) McMillan, Maggie (2021) and Nate Bello, and Helen McDonald. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Charlie grew up in Sarnia, and even a young age he demonstrated his determination and leadership by earning the Queen Scout Award. He moved to Windsor at the age of 18 to begin his apprenticeship as a pipefitter. Throughout his 40 years at Ford Motor Company he held various supervisory and management positions. Charlie was an elder at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Windsor and then attended University Community Church. Over the years, he was also active in many organizations including the Windsor Yacht Club and the Royal Canadian Legion. Charlie was an avid "boatwatcher" and enjoyed many activities, especially curling and playing cards.

Special gratitude to all the Amica and Paramed staff and other health care professionals who have cared for Charlie and offered encouragement over the last few years.

In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, donations to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Visitation will be held at Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home, 1525 Hwy. 3, Oldcastle, (226) 779-5720, on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 10:30 a.m., until the time of Chapel Service at 11:30 a.m.
