He was predeceased by: his parents, William Winterbottom and Ruth Winterbottom; and his siblings, Hilda, Norma, Betty and Wilfred.

He is survived by: his wife Anne; his daughters, Carla, Lizabeth and Martha; his grandchildren, Erika, Monica, Stephen, Sydney, Ashton, David Larson, Douglas Sanborn and Gui Ellwood; his sisters-in-law, Patricia Gray and Susie Korchnak; and his sisters, Dorothy Cascadden (Murray) and Janet Vigh (Steve). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
