He was predeceased by: his wife Sylvia; his daughter Connie; his parents, Archibald Campeau and Emma Campeau; and his siblings, Eugene (Loretta), Leonard (Theresa), Felix, Josephine (Stan), Charlie, Jo Anne Begin, Cecile (Adrian) and Alec.

He is survived by: his sons, Dennis (Sheila), Jim (Michele) and Patrick; his grandchildren, Emma, Sara, Jyces, Ojin, Zachary and Travis; his great grandchildren, Leah, Bella, Myah, Ethan and Makena; his stepgrandchildren, Joanna and Daniel; and his siblings, Maurice (late Rose Mary) and Henriette (late Gord Ruggaber). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Denis to the Canadian Cancer Society.
