He was predeceased by: his father Gordon Cahill; his in-laws, James and Theresa Robertson; and his brother-in-law Paul. He is survived by: his wife Janice; his children, Douglas and Jenn; his mother Mary Ann Cahill; his siblings, Patrick, Michael (Diane), Debra (Joe) and Gord (April); and his siblings-in-law, Jim (late Linda), Carol (late Elio) and Susan (Brian). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
