Elizabeth Dixon wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Mary and family. There are no words that can take away the pain of losing a loved one. I was saddened to come across your loss of Fred. I always felt like I knew him for ages. He had great faith, and was so kind. Heaven will be happy to have him join. Our recent conversation about angels left me searching for more information. But the memory that I cherish most is our drive through the PEI roads one lovely summer evening, and the ice cream cone at Victoria wharf. He will be so missed”

Brad Taylor wrote a sympathy message

“I meet Fred in October of 1997 and he was always kind and caring in a little bit of a gruff way. You knew he liked you if he gave you a hard time. I spent a weekend with Fred and Mary in their home in Milton and they treated me like family. Golfed many times with Fred and returned to an amazing meal with Mary. I know Fred will be missed by one and all and would like to pass on my sincere condolences. My thought and prayers go out to Mary and the entire family. Brad Taylor”

“Fred was always a great coworker and I had the chance to host him in Calgary on several work trips. "Fast Freddy" will be greatly missed and I always think of him when the Calgary Flames play the Montreal Canadiens. We had a standing offer that should Calgary play Montreal again in the final that I would host him here and he would host me out east so we could watch the series together. I will be sure to honor my side of the deal when that days comes. I miss you Fred. All my best. Dana.”
