He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Emmie Arnew; his brother Gary; and his sister-in-law Bev. He is survived by: his close friend Peggy Yorks of Ohio; his children, Brian (Bonnie) of Fergus and Wendy (Camiel) of Peterborough; his grandchildren, Jessica (Mike), Mitchell, Ethan, Cameron, Alisha (Ken) and Nicole (James); his great grandchildren, Maggie and Alexander; his sister-in-law Sue Arnew (British Columbia); and his niece Cindy (Darren) of Kingsville.

In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Gerald's honour.
