He was predeceased by: his parents, Annonciade Authier and Adrien Authier; his siblings, Jacques, Jean-Guy, Lyse Boucher, Michèle and Daniel; and also Eugénie Cormier.

He is survived by: his spouse Gilberte; his children, Sylvie Hartshorn (Ian), Christine Metson (Tony), Natalie Campbell (Jason) and Nadia Authier (Ted MacEwen); and his sibling Marcel. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Debra Canada, a charity that was very near to Gil's heart, or to the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
