He was predeceased by: his wife Julie; his parents, Ernest Knowles and Daisy Knowles (Jones); his granddaughter Leanna; and his brothers, Keith Knowles (late Helen) and Gordon Knowles (Susan).

He is survived by: his children, Larry (Julie), Judy Renaud (Tim), Ken (Nancy) and Cindy Ferguson (Alan); his grandchildren, Brandon Knowles (Monique), Jennifer Arbour (Steve), Christopher Renaud (Andra), Justine Renaud (Mark Wittmann), Michael Renaud (Anastasia), Shawn Knowles (Allison), Scott Knowles (Erica), Alyssa D'Agnolo (Ryan), Heather St. Pierre (Chris) and Alexander Ferguson; his great grandchildren, Brady, Katelyn, Douglas, Piper, Ernie, Mackenna, Victor, Louis, Olive, Dash and Desmond; and his sister Donna Wilson (late Gord).
