He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Caldwell; his parents, Steven and Audrey; and his sister Karen Murphy. He is survived by: his children, Kelly Halberda (Chad), David Halberda (Kellie) and Holly Gale (Darcy); his grandchildren, Erin (Joe), Elyssa, Emily, Austen and Miranda; and his great grandchildren, Sofia, Christina and Vince.
