He was predeceased by: his wife Agnes; and his sibling Jean. He is survived by: his sons, Ian (Kathleen), Derek and Scott; his grandchild Mackenzie (Alex); and his sister Jacqueline. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Due to the pandemic, a Celebration of James' Life will be held at a later date.
