He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Gagnon and Rosabelle Gagnon; his siblings, Eve Charette (late Frank), Freddie Gagnon (late Diane), Mabel Hillman (late Bill), Dale Gagnon (late Sharon) and Gerald Gagnon; and his sibling-in-law Francis Pajot (late Gail).

He is survived by: his wife Catherine; his son James (Erin); his grandchildren, Ashley and Megan; his siblings, Jackie Sauve (late Roy Adams), Annette Lindsay, Katherine Chiasson (late Abbey), Louis Gagnon (Marilyn), Jules Gagnon (late Sandra) and Susie Holman (late Rick); his close friends, Carol and Bayshore; and his sister-in-law Bernice Markham (Ken). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

If you so desire, donations in John's honour may be made to the Parkinson Society or St. Joseph Church Restoration Fund.
