It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to the most wonderful, kindest, gentlest man we have had the pleasure to call our dad, John Kenneth Blais (Ken). He died suddenly after a severe car accident. He is predeceased by his loving wife Joyce-Marie Blais (formerly Ouellette, nee Brown-2008). Loving son of Lawrence and Ida Blais (nee Constantineau) Loving brother of Doug (wife Irene), Joan (husband Ralph Nevue), Verna (husband Leo Lavallee), Jackie (husband Wilton Lepine), all predeceased. Joyce Forest (husband Maurice) and predeceased (Reggie Ross), Don predeceased and (wife Pat), Loving brother-in-law of Kathy and Roger Papineau, Richard Brown, Michael and Jean Brown, predeceased Barbara (husband Donald McLachlan)
He leaves behind his daughter Patricia-Marie Lamarsh (husband Brian), step-children: Gary Ouellette, Laura Ouellette (2004) Gail Ouellette, Robert Ouellette, Melody Ouellette, Grandchildren: Ryan Ouellette, Kaila Arcand, Shailyn Arcand, Skyann Arcand, Kayden Lamarsh, Great grandsons: Marcus Pierce Jr and Elijah Theroet. He was adored by many nieces and nephews and friends who miss him dearly.
A special thank you to the ER staff at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus and the staff on 4 especially Katie, Rob, Paula, Nadia and Tony. An extra special Thank you for everyone at Hospice, all the doctors, nurses, volunteers and more who made this difficult time so much easier to bear.
He was adored by everyone he met. He had many friends from all walks of life.
He was amazing! He married our mom and took on 5 adult step-children (ages 16-26) and a 4 yr old that he later adopted as his own. He never raised his voice or ever said an unkind word to or about anyone.
He worked for Via Rail and for most of his career with them worked the Toronto to Winnipeg run.
He loved his card groups and especially his poker buddies. He looked forward to his “card days” as he called them even though he usually lost.
On the weekends he looked forward to going to the Legion 255 or whatever bar his favourite band (The Crowbars) were playing at. He would spend the night on the dance floor...he loved to dance, often staying until closing! He also enjoyed going to the Bingo and he and Melody went weekly.
He loved the holidays especially Christmas. He looked forward to our annual Christmas Eve party and seeing all the family and friends. We will sorely miss him but are happy he is celebrating in heaven with mom and his loved ones.
In lieu of flowers we request donations to Hospice of Windsor.
