He was predeceased by: his parents, Konstantine Kakkavas and Olga Kakkavas; and his siblings, Eleni Kakkavas, George Kakkavas, Peter Kakkavas and Dimitri Kakkavas.
He is survived by: his wife Zoe; his children, Olga Kakkavas-Argirakis (Alexis) and Tom Kakkavas (Christine); and his friend S. A.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM and on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave, Windsor, ON N9H1C9).
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to honour John's life may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
