It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Stephen Cerget (Windsor, Ontario), who passed away on November 2, 2018, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Uncle John" leaves us to join in the arms of his loving parents, Julius and Gisela (Chamko) Cerget. Big brother to Anna Hancock (Don). Uncle to Chris and Margaret Hancock, Ken Hancock (deceased), Brian and Deanna Hancock, Laura and Peter Dobrich. Great Uncle to Jessica, Spencer and Forrest Hancock, Garrett, Landis, Brennan and Kendra Hancock, Aleksandar, Danijela and Stefan Dobrich. John was a giant and gentle soul who will be dearly missed. John was a retiree of Dominion Forge. A special thank you to all of his compassionate caregivers these past months, both at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus and at Erie Shores Hospice. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Monday at 7:30pm. Friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Slovak Church (1532 Alexis Rd. at Seminole St.) for John's Funeral Mass at 11am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy and to honour John's life, memorial donations may be made to the Erie Shores Hospice.
