He is survived by: his spouse Angela; his children, Michael (Danielle) and Brian; his parent Dodie Monaghan; his husband Thomas; and his siblings, Dennis, Tim (Sue), Claire (late Steve) and Lorna (Paul). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Alzheimer Society of Windsor-Essex County.
