It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maurice Matassa (Windsor, Ontario), who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosa Matassa and Atillo Matassa; and his siblings, Bruno, Nello, Louis and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Matassa; his siblings, Liz, Julio and Anna; and his brother-in-law Leslie Morvay (Lynne). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Windsor Central Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd E, Windsor, ON N8W1C7). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Windsor Chapel - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd E, Windsor, ON N8W1C7). The inurnment will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave, Windsor, ON N9H1C9).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out in Maurice's memory to The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County or The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society.
