She was predeceased by: her husband James; her grandson Brendan; her parents, Edmund Godkin and Olive Godkin (Medd); her stepmother Ida Godkin (McClinchey); her siblings, Mervin Godkin (June), Lavern Godkin, Olene Dennis (Murray), Audrey Beuermann (Lloyd) and Lois Sinclair (Glen); and her sisters-in-law, Joanne Arnold (Alec) and Mary Loretta Burns.
She is survived by: her sons, Brad (Dawn) and Greg (Adèle); her grandson Aidan (Misi); and her siblings-in-law, Marion Godkin (late Lavern), Pat Burns (late Bernice) and Ronnie (Sharon). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Merle's memory may be made out to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (https://www.heartandstroke.ca) or Canadian Cancer Society, which are causes that are especially meaningful to our family.
