He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Vale and Phyllis Vale; and his sister Jill Gorman. He is survived by: his wife Elisabeth; his children, Joseph (Becky) of Cambridge, Stephanie (Dan) of Cambridge, Philip (Jovana) of Windsor and Emma Bernans (Matt) of Ottawa; his grandchildren, Gracie, Claire, Luke, Jonah, Aleks, Theodore, Analore and Abigail; and his siblings, Mary Hughes (Marty), John (Arlene), Joan Watters (Alex), Grace Fraser (Doug), Katie McAdam (John) and Nancy Ryks (Dolf). He is also survived by four children and eight grandchildren.
