Timothy Gordon Rusling Obituary
Sept. 7, 1952 – January 13, 2022 Finally went to be with his wonderful Saviour on January 13, 2022. Survived by his wife Marj and son Gord. Predeceased by parents Gord (1971) and Norma (2019), Brother to Dale (Joan). Uncle to Allison (Will), Amanda (Greg) and Anne (Peter). Devoted best friend of the late Marie Lauzon (2018).
Special thanks to committed prayer warriors at Banwell Community Church, Ted and Thomie Larkin for their steadfast friendship spanning decades, Shari Daher for her kindness, Dr. Mike Saruna for his support throughout the years and his amazing dental skills, Mandy Gauthier for her special deep insights, Ellen Pascot for being an encouragement in times of trouble, Kathy Kiss for her kindness and continued moral support, Colleen Cole for being his cheerleader, Jim Crichton for his wisdom and understanding, Judith and Mat for giving his Checker Marathon (Radio City Cab) a loving home in France (taxifun.fr), Brian and Linda Leslie, Cheryl Pullin, Ruby Cler, John Jones, Carol Rigg, Anthony Sinasac, Yvonne Underwood, Wayne Larose, Scott Embury, Linda Culver, Jerry Babin, Charlene Newton, Hal and Ruth Herzog, Steven Mihoren for believing in him and Dave James of Helicopter Services for finding ways to lift his spirits.
In addition, Tim wanted to thank Dale and Shari for all the countless sacrifices they made for him in his last days, Bob and Sue McMillan, Dave and Virginia Lauzon, Dan and Bridgette Laskowski and Bruce and Diane Lancaster for their years of special friendship, and Paul Vance for always finding time for music, AMC car appreciation, scriptural and intellectual pursuits. Dave and Rosemary Richards and Deborah and Don Waterhouse were very special friends and dearly loved.
He also wished to thank Dr. Don Fiander and Dr. Fouad Tayfour for restoring his eyesight, Dr. Abdalla Shamisa and Dr. Elashaal for extending Tim's life through difficult brain surgeries and for the wonderful care at Windsor Regional Hospitals – both campus locations, to the rehabilitation team at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and to those at the Anthony P. Toldo cancer facility.
Tim was a very simple person, but with many complex interests. As a rare INFJ HSP, he was often misunderstood throughout his life. He suffered a terrible brain injury in 1974 which robbed him of his numeracy and much memory. This led him to have a heart for the downtrodden and disadvantaged. He asks everyone who reads this to be aware of anyone who needs a helping hand. Please don't pass them by as they might be an angel that you don't recognize.
Tim wore many hats but will be most recently remembered as Tim the Tool Man at the Windsor East Home Depot. He very much enjoyed teaching customers and fellow associates.
In his honour, please go on YouTube and watch Green Hornet TV episodes, The Prisoner and The Ghoul (the late Ron Sweed – 2019).
If so desired, donations may be made to Zion's Hope or the Brain Injury Association of Canada.
At his request, there will be no visitation, funeral or celebration. Arrangements handled by Walter D. Kelly.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to Him and He will direct your paths.
