She was predeceased by: her husband Stephen J. Hecnar Sr.; her parents, Alexander Heath Niven and Mary Elizabeth Dixon; her great-aunt Evelyn Ruth Dixon; and her siblings, Robert Niven, Alexander Niven (Janine Gray), Isabel Niven and Norma Chantler (James).
She is survived by: her sons, Dr. Stephen Hecnar (Darlene) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Mark Christopher Hecnar (Judith) of Windsor, Ontario and David James Hecnar of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Tiffany Rose Hecnar/Moore (Michael) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Mark Christopher Hecnar and Victoria Lynn Hecnar (mother Heather Hecnar); her great grandchildren, Evan Mitchell Moore, James Tiberius Moore and Maxwell William Moore of Thunder Bay, Ontario.; her sister Marigold Nehr (Michael); her niece Rebecca Niven/McKinley/Pietrangelo (Gino); and her sister-in-law Helen Klem (late Tony Klem) of St. Thomas, Ontario..
