Jean Tervit Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Tervit of Wingham, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 19, 2025 at the age of 86. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jean Tervit to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jack Tervit; her parents, Bill Cottrill and Elsie Cottrill (McIntosh); her siblings, Bill Cottrill and Nancy Lippert; and her siblings-in-law, Jean Deans (Jack), George Tervit and Don Wallace.
She is survived by: her children, Ken, Cindy Tervit and Kevin Tervit; her grandchildren, Jean, Melissa Tervit, Jaide, Tyler Campbell, Meagan and Travis Brown; her great grandchildren, Brielle, Adalyn, Camilla Campbell and Scottie Jean Brown; her siblings, Mike, Donelda Cottrill, Joe and Cheryl Cottrill; her siblings-in-law, Gary Lippert, Mary Wallace and Barb Tervit; and her caregiver Dr. Uniac.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the McBurney Funeral Home Chapel (35 Patrick St W, Wingham, ON N0G2W0).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Wingham Legion Ladies Auxiliary or the Wingham & District Hospital Ladies Auxiliary would be appreciated.
