He was predeceased by: his brother Stephen; and his parents, Doug Ellwood and Elizabeth Ellwood. He is survived by: his sons, Douglas and Dylan Ellwood; his significant other Darlene Blake; and his friend Lawrence Sinnaeve.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel (262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, ON N4G3R7).
