He was predeceased by: his wife Helen; his parents, Oane and Sytske; and his brothers, David and Cecil.
He is survived by: his sister Jenny; his children, Alan (Jessica), Harold (Murrielle) and Dean; his grandchildren, Sharon, Scott (Serena), Megan, Vivian, Gerrit and Dakota; and his great grandchildren, Gerrit, Iris and Lennon.
