He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Howick and Ruby Howick; his sister Jean Slack (Edwin); his nephew Gerald Slack; his brother-in-law Bill McDonald; Judy Culbert (Utting).

He is survived by: his significant other Sandra Smith; his son Mark Howick; his granddaughter Kendrah; his great grandchild Alice; his sister Marian McDonald; his significant other's son Greg Smith (Jennifer); Thomson and Brian (Janet). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
