He was predeceased by : his wife Barbara Thompson; and his sister Dorothy Freeman (Dorie). He is survived by : his children, Kathryn Thompson of Woodstock, Ronald Thompson (Jayne) of Lenox, Iowa and Joanne Long (Harvey) of Woodstock; his grandchildren, Terri Vording (Tim), Paul Long, Matthew Leduc, Drew Long (Trudy), Lorne Thompson, Melissa Thompson, Kacie DeWolf (Matt), Dayna Sweeney and Paige Sweeney (Chris); his great grandchildren, Matthew, Everett, Monica, Isabella, Emily, Ember, Emerson, Quinn, Reese and Asher; and his close friend Laureen Sim. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews and extended family.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer's Society of Oxford or the Woodstock Hospital Palliative Unit and would be appreciated.
