He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Jong and Shirley De Jong; his parents-in-law, Tony and Corrie Van Rheenen; his brothers-in-law, Orval Okkema, Pete Plat, Harry Brouwer, David Spooner and Peter Van Rheenen; his brother John De Jong; and his grandchildren, Daneil, Micah and Ethan.
He is survived by: his wife Margie; his children, Paul (Kathryn), Scott (Patsy), Duane (Natasha) and Michelle (Jeff); his grandchildren, Colton, Carter, Jesse (Joanna), Aaron (Emily), Karinna (Matt), Reid, Francisco, Louise, Chelsey (Eric), Emily, Brayden, Ciara, Isabella, Tim, Ashley (Jeff), Christa and Nathan (Rachel); his great grandchildren, Hailey, Madison, Elise, Harper, Eleanor, Christopher, Mackenzie, Gabe and Addison; his siblings, Ann Okkema, Siska Plat, Helen Brouwer, Margaret Rumble (John), Sherry De Jong, George (Margaret) of Jong and Al De Jong (Jackie); and his sisters-in-law, Edith Spooner, Karen Van Rheenen, Margaret Young (Roger) and Sylvia Hooghiem (Andre).
