He was predeceased by: his parents, Ebele Meulen and Aafke Vander Meulen; his son Earl Vander Meulen; his siblings, Libbe, Wikje, Anne, Turner, Paul and Trienke; and his brother-in-law Allard.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Vander Meulen of Wooler; his children, Christine Smit of Smithville, Evelyn Tilstra (Sid) of Woodstock, Marlene Van Holst (Jerry) of Frankford, Elisabeth Muldoon (Don) of Brighton, Jacqueline Niemann (Michael) of Rockwood and Andrew Vander Meulen (Jennifer) of Brighton; his siblings, John Roorda of St. Catherines and Susan DeGroot of Smithville; and his siblings-in-law, Joan Roorda, Bill Colijn, John Colijn (Mary) and Gerda Vander Kloet.
