“Rutger with the infectious laugh was one of my finest 60s friends and surprisingly our interests were so different and that made him a standout. I was the athlete and he was the outgoing good student. It helped that we lived in the same Brantwood Ottawa neighbourhood. Rutger being tall lanky never hesitated to play football with me and tried forever game fully to reach for either long or short dropped passes.It is a real honor to have my picture opposite him in Lisgar 1964 yr book.”
