He was predeceased by: his wife Donna; and his children, Deborah and Bernie Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Danny Mitchell (Debbie), Dennis Mitchell (Pamela), Dale Mitchell (Roxanne), Dean Mitchell, Anne Mitchell, Rachel Smardon (James) and Chris Mitchell; and his grandchildren, Sherri Lyn Hoffman, Catherine Shawnisty Mitchell, Sean David Allen Mitchell, Samantha Vanderjeugd, Steven Vanderjeugd, Clive Caleb Stewart-Mitchell, Alexander James Smardon, Marisa Ramandt, Joshua Ramandt and Ariana Mitchell. He is also survived by great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
