He was predeceased by : his spouse Marion Steckle (Erb); his parents, Josiah Steckle and Ella Steckle; his sister Eva Frey; and his brothers-in-law, Edward Frey, Sam Horst, Lewis Erb, Paul Erb, Robert McKinley and Ted Durcharme.

He is survived by : his children, Ken Steckle (Virginia) of Bayfield, Kathryn Moritz (Lloyd) of Fresno, California, Douglas Steckle of Pattaya and Lori James (Darryl) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Tabitha), Jeff (Jocelyn), Luke (Crystal), Jonathan (Jennifer), Andrew (Yessica), Elisabeth, Rebecca (Lanise), Sarah and Katrina; his great grandchildren, Bryson, Owen, Claire, Oliver, Graham, Carter, Luke and Kate; and his siblings, Clayton Steckle (Shirley), Elsie Horst, Dave Steckle (Carol), Nancy Ducharme, Allen Erb (Laurie), Susan Corriveau (Paul) and Bonnie Erb. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations to the Kingsfield – Zurich Mennonite Church or Blue Water Rest Home would be appreciated by the family.
