He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley Dougan; his parents, John Dougan and Florence Dougan of Donaldston; and his brothers, Leo (Margaret), Frank, Patrick (Sophie), Thomas (Eleanor), Jack (Evelyn), Joseph (Norma), Vincent (Marie), Frederick (Joyce), Justin, Maurice (Anita) and Charles (Frances).
He is survived by: his children, Bill (Paula), Rick (Zita) and Karen Smith; and his grandchildren, Lynn Dunlop (Phil), Beverley Dougan (Allan Stewart), Catherine Ford (Darren), Sheena Russell (Andrew), Lacey Simmonds (Jarvis), Sarah Dougan (Brodie MacPhee) and Emma Dougan (Alex Taylor).
