George Donald Burnett Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Donald Burnett of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, who passed away on December 21, 2022 at the age of 68. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of George Donald Burnett to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his father George Mathieson Burnett. He is survived by : his mother Jean Katherine Burnett (Ramsay); his stepfather William James Farris; and his siblings, Niall Burnett (Cathy), Katherine Burnett, Peter Burnett (Deborah) and Laurie Caldwell (Doug). He is also survived by nine nieces and one nephew.

The PEI Humane Society will accept donations in Donnie's memory which will be greatly appreciated.

“I am saddened to hear of Donnie's death. As well as liking him tremendously, I owe Don a debt of gratitude for his generosity: during the '80s he shared his Montage space with me and many performing artists, asking only for a small cut of the eventual "door", which was usually minuscule indeed. This really allowed me to develop my skills as a playwright and director for live theatre. So, thanks, Donnie! I will miss running into you in our neighbourhood and yakking and laughing for ages.”
