James Joseph Oswald MacKinnon Obituary
The memory of James Joseph Oswald MacKinnon of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, who passed away on June 27, 2025 at the age of 83, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard MacKinnon and Beatrice MacKinnon (MacLellan); his wife Ruth MacKinnon (Hansen); his brother Earl MacKinnon (Inez); his siblings-in-law, Jessie MacFadyen, Joan Smith (Gerald), Preston Mitchell, Neil MacFadyen, Keir Johnson and Martin Kelly; and his niece Cindy.
He is survived by: his sons, Darren (Lacey) and Andy (Mary Jane); his grandchildren, Madison (Wyatt), Nolan, Hudson and Marshall; his siblings, Marjorie Johnson, Norma Kelly, Linda MacLennan (Wayne), Joe MacKinnon (Leah) and Mary MacKinnon-Walsh (Paul); and his sisters-in-law, Ann Mitchell and Brenda Corbett (Donnie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Belvedere Funeral Home (175 Belvedere Ave, Charlottetown, PE C1A2Y9). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church (106 St Peters Rd #34, Charlottetown, PE C1A5P2). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at the Sherwood Cemetery (355 Sherwood Rd, Charlottetown, PE C1E0E5).
