He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Toombs and Ethel Toombs (Carew); his daughter Brenda; his sister Cora Simpson (Reg); his mother-in-law Amos Adams; his sisters-in-law, Florena Moore (Herb), Stewart, Louis, Walter, Clarence, Keith (Catherine), Clayton, Bloyce (Phyllis) and Robert; and also Edna Adams.

He is survived by: his spouse Ruby Toombs; his children, Carl (Marlene), Merton (Theresa) and Lori (Barry Gallant); his grandchildren, Josh (Courtney), Daniel, Chandler, Chloe and Mark; his son-in-law Tom Killorn; and his sisters-in-law, Denise Adams, Jean Adams and Natalie Adams. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
