He was predeceased by: his parents, Lemuel Drake and Carrie Drake; his siblings, Stewart (Ethel), Vernon (Zelda), Helen and Marion; and his siblings-in-law, Connie Thurber, Angus Matheson and Miriam MacLean.

He is survived by: his wife Eileen; his children, John (Sandra McConkey) and Carolyn (Garth Hurley); his granddaughters, Carrie (Justin Barkhouse) and Katherine (James Mallard); and his siblings-in-law, Allison Jay (Marg), Muriel Jay Matheson, Roddie MacLean, Cynthia Crane (Mearl) and Allan Jay (Shirley). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
