He was predeceased by: his father Elmer Thompson; his brother-in-law Al Delaney; his niece Kilby Delaney; and his father-in-law George Compton. He is survived by: his mother Muriel Thompson; his wife Laurie Thompson (Compton); his children, Aaron Thompson (Stephanie McKenna) and Micaela Thompson (Dana Adams); his siblings, Errol Thompson (Cathy), Carol Delaney and Sandy Thompson; his siblings' children, K. K. Thompson, Samuel Compton, Charlie Thompson, Lisa Thompson, Jilian Delaney, Maria Compton, Anna Compton and Jorja-Rae Thompson; his mother-in-law Eleanor Compton; his brother-in-law Lloyd Compton (Brenda); and his stepgrandchildren, Colby Adams, Kelsey Adams and Rachel Adams.
